Diligence brings delight: A Festschrift in honour of Anna T. Litovkina on the occasion of her 60th birthday

This Festschrift is a tribute to Anna T. Litovkina, one of the most talented, successful, and renowned paremiologists of our time, on the occasion of her 60th birthday. Throughout her career, Anna T. Litovkina has exhibited a broad and passionate interest in collecting and studying proverbs and anti-proverbs (innovative alterations of proverbs). She has authored over 20 books and 100 scientific papers, which are highly esteemed by the international paremiological community and have earned her several prestigious awards. Therefore, the proverb used in the title of this volume, "Diligence brings delight," perfectly encapsulates her entire professional career.

Through this Festschrift, Anna T. Litovkina's colleagues, co-authors, and friends aim to extend their heartfelt congratulations on her birthday. A total of 25 authors from 11 different countries have contributed 19 valuable papers, which have been categorized into the following thematic areas: "The world through proverbs and anti-proverbs," "Variations and innovations in proverbs," "Proverbs in the language classroom," "Proverbs in interaction with other genres," and "Theoretical and applied approaches to proverbs and other phraseological utterances."
