Contemporary Legend, the annual journal of the International Society for Contemporary Legend Research, aims to promote and encourage research and to provide a forum for those working in this vibrant area of traditional narrative scholarship. Within this context the term “legend” is interpreted in its broadest sense as including Sagen, dites, popular rumors, conspiracy theories, sayings, and beliefs as well as in its narrative form, whether in oral circulation, digital circulation, or literature. Similarly, “contemporary” refers not only to so-called “modern urban legends” but also to legends in active circulation in a given community. To disseminate scholarship in a timely manner, Contemporary Legend publishes articles, research notes, and reviews on a rolling basis. An “issue” constitutes all works published in a calendar year. ISSN 0963-8334.
